Knoff Group Presents: Our Favorite Unique Dining Experiences

Bozeman’s food scene keeps getting more interesting, and you don’t need a big budget or a dinner reservation to hit all of them. From an intimate Chinese pop-up dinner to a Friday-only student-run bistro to a slew of food trucks slinging flavors you won’t find anywhere else in town, here are some of the most unique dining experiences in the Gallatin Valley.

Unique Dining Experiences

Hummingbird’s Kitchen - Led by Chef Linda Huang, originally from Shanghai, this pop-up serves traditional Chinese food four times a month at a private dining space on Lincoln Street. It’s a celebration of Chinese heritage paired with healthy, soulful cooking - think hand-blended teas to signature sauces you won’t find anywhere else in Bozeman. https://www.thehummingbirdskitchen.com/

Thyme Bistro is a student-run restaurant that lets Gallatin College’s very own culinary students bring their skills to life. Catch them Fridays from 11am to 1pm in the Hannon Hall Dining Room, with both dine-in and grab-and-go options. Prices are typically fairly inexpensive compared to traditional dining options, and the bistro is open to the public - not just students. https://gallatin.montana.edu/outreach/thymebistro.html

Gourmet Food Trucks

A Lo Catracho is an authentic Honduran food truck operating out of local Bozeman spots, often at 1752 Tschache Lane. Some of their specialties include enchiladas, baleadas, crispy Catrachitas, Chuleta con Tajadas, and of course - Honduran tacos! Don’t sleep on this yummy food truck. https://www.facebook.com/p/A-Lo-Catracho-61553269024260/

Braza is a delicious food truck that specializes in the art of open-fire cooking and elevated Mexican cuisine. Chef Joel Gil blends his Mexican heritage with global culinary influences, creating innovative dishes that you can’t find anywhere else in Bozeman. Braza takes pride in sourcing premium Montana beef and ensures that each meal is crafted with the finest ingredients available. Their food truck is frequently moving - follow along on social media to catch them! https://www.eatbraza.com/

Golden Goose Street Eats is a Japanese food truck situated on 611 North Wallace, in Bozeman’s north side. Golden Goose is typically open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday (hours subject to change), and features a few different dishes. This year, their summer menu consisted of Tonkatsu, Miso Lamb Ribs, and Ginger Soy Steak. People also love their yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) when available! https://www.goldengoosefoodtruck.com/

La Unica Pupuseria is known for their traditional Salvadoran dishes - amongst those, like the name alludes to - pupusas! We also love their handcrafted tacos - made with freshly pressed tortillas. You can find La Unica Pupuseria at 1731 Tschache Lane, open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm, and closed Sundays. https://launicapupuseria.com/

La Vaca Mariposa is a local food truck serving up Venezuelan cuisine. Think arepas, hand-formed corn pockets stuffed with fillings and empanadas, crispy fried corn-flour pastries with savory fillings. One of our favorites is their cachapas - sweet corn pancakes folded with fresh cheese. You can find La Vaca Mariposa at 319 N 7th Avenue every day of the week. https://www.instagram.com/lavacamariposabzn/?hl=en

Tabay’s Mindful Kitchen is one of Bozeman’s only plant-based food trucks, and can be found on 23 N Seventh Avenue. Inspired by national parks, scenic roadtrips, and the feeling of being outdoors, TMK serves up delicious cuisine like their Canyonlands Crispy Shell Tacos and a Persian Burger. It’s a great addition to Bozeman, especially for those looking for a delicious all-vegan spot. https://tabaysmindfulkitchen.com/
